This Week's Events in Coeur d'Alene and Surrounds

Dirt and Fert. Soils 101

Presented by Nina Eckberg, former County Extension Agent and Invasive Control Coordinator.  Everything comes from dirt! Learn the basics about the soils around you and you'll be able to grow the right plant in the right place! The first hour will walk you through how soils are formed, the difference between sand, silt, and clay, and what a soil triangle is and how it's used. The second hour will focus on soil testing, the nutrients in soils that plants use, and how to identify and use fertilizers. You'll participate in hands-on activities during class and leave with references to access more information about soils and fertilizers. Become the master of mud-pies and join us!

Class location: U of I Extension office in Kootenai County at 1808 N 3rd St. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 83814. Register now by sending your payment, with contact information, to this address or stop by. For more information, please call 208-446-1680.
