This Week's Events in Coeur d'Alene and Surrounds
Root Disease - The Hidden Menace
Root diseases are the primary tree killer on 2/3 of northern Idaho forests. Unlike highly visible insect outbreaks and fires, root diseases often go unnoticed, are typically more widespread, and have greater long-term impacts on forest health. A workshop titled Root Disease: The Hidden Menace will be offered to help forest owners, loggers and natural resource professionals better diagnose root disease issues and manage forests in ways that reduce root disease impacts.
The two-day session is aimed at forest managers, with more depth both indoors and in the field. $10 registration fee.
For registration questions for the Hayden session, contact the University of Idaho Extension office in Kootenai County at (208) 446-1680.
The workshop is an Idaho Forest Stewardship program, co-sponsored by University of Idaho Extension, the Idaho Department of Lands, the U.S. Forest Service and many other agencies and organizations.
