This Week's Events in Coeur d'Alene and Surrounds

Fishnauts: A NASA Story

A one-hour talk, "Fishnauts: A NASA Story," will be given by Ed Galindo, faculty member in the University of Idaho's Near Space engineering program, in the Molstead Library's Todd Lecture Hall. Students from the University of Idaho's chapter of the program, VAST (Vandal Atmospheric Science Team), will bring some examples of equipment and will also be available to discuss their experiences with preparing experiments and then launching and recovering these scientific payloads into altitudes in excess of 100,000 feet.

In addition, through the end of March, Molstead Library will feature an exhibit of breathtaking photographs of the earth and near space, a high-altitude balloon with parachute and other launch equipment, and a display of library books and videos on near space, astronomy, flight, NASA, and flight engineering.

The public is invited to attend the free talk and exhibit.
