The Art Spirit Gallery is proud to exhibit unique refreshing landscape photography of Barbara Pleason Mueller, local artist, creator of Portrait of a Town, and cofounder of Gizmo - CDA.  Bring a friend and celebrate the creative talent that has enriched our community.  Opening reception is Friday, November 14 from 5 – 8 pm in conjunction with ArtWalk. Everyone is welcome.

In a world that is often edgy and harsh, Barbara Pleason Mueller's refreshing landscape photography offers reprieve, an opportunity to pause, engage, and absorb the abundant natural beauty around us.  "The work that hangs on these walls is done in celebration.  Celebration of the places that I live, visit, dream about and for the people, animals, and nature that fill my life and heart."

Photography is a relatively new art form for the accomplished potter and weaver.  Use of gentle camera manipulation, delicate Japanese Kozo paper for printing, and encaustics – the tradition process of laying hot beeswax, soften the ethereal images captured.  Photoshop is rarely used.  The artist's goal: to provide a different way in which to see the world.

Barbara's exhibit highlights organic flora and fauna discovered during local walkabouts and in forests both near and far. Photographs of stately aspen groves, birds in flight, and delicate leaves arouse multiple senses.  Viewers can almost taste the moist air, hear the water's gentle movement, and smell the duff below.  Nothing edgy.  Nothing harsh.  Mission accomplished.
